How well does it work?
As to full functionality, it presently operates in the following manner:
Under normal running conditions it just sits there, displaying the time delay countdown that you have selected using the UP and DOWN buttons.
When you remove the key from the ignition, the car continues to run, and the timer counts down towards zero. When it reaches zero, the car shuts off normally.
While the timer is counting down (and after it’s done) at any time, you may lock the doors with either the remote key-fob, or the door console controls, and the doors lock, and the alarm engages normally, and the green light comes on in the dash.
IF you park the car and don’t put the parking brake on, when you remove the key, the car shuts off. Similarly, if you have removed the key and the timer is counting down, and you then take the parking brake off, the car also shuts off immediately. A very handy safety interlock… don’t ask me why I know this.
