FS/Trade my beloved R6

I hate to do this, but I have to. I am selling my beloved R6 that I have had for about a year now and have taken it from a stock bike to the beauty she is now. It is a 2005 R6 with approx. 15kmi on the clock. Parts list includes:

  1. Powdercoated the pegs and rearsets (currently has red pegs, which I can leave or re-powdercoat to match the brackets/rearsets… your choice).
  2. Micron high mount exhaust chopped and powdercoated (endcap is same red as pegs, but also can be changed if wanted)
  3. Brand new K&N filter in March.
  4. Fully custom headlight. The headlight has been retro-fitted with Infinity G35 projector lenses which allows for HID lighting on both sides of the headlight which helps to evenly distribute the light ahead of you. It is much brighter than stock even without the High beams. Turn the high beams on and suddenly it becomes daytime. Also in the headlight are Audi style LED turn signals to allow better viewing of intentions for vehicles in front of the bike. The headlights are on a cut-off switch custom mounted in the left hand controls switch.
  5. Full LED kit around bike. The kit utilizes approx. 50 LED’s to illuminate the bike throughout. This allows for the bike to stand out in a crowd for both just looks and safety as it makes the bike much more visible on the street at night
  6. Full bike-bolts replacement bolt kit in a candy red. Just helps to clean up the look of the bike.
  7. Fully integrated sequential rear tail. When the brakes are applied, the brake lights flash quickly for approx. 3 seconds to alert drivers behind you that you are coming to a stop. The turn signals are also sequential so when you hit the turn signal, the lights will illuminate starting from the inside of the tail light and moving outward towards the direction of your turn. This allows people behind you to easily figure out which way you are planning on turning.
  8. I also currently have a Python 2 way alarm installed on the bike that I would prefer to remove and keep, but if you want it to stay on, I can include it for an additional $200. The alarm system goes for approx. $350-$400 from the local shops. It also has a remote starter that in reality rarely gets used, but it is a good way to allow the bike engine to warm up while you gear up so you are not starting your journey on a cold engine.
  9. Shorty style 6-way adjustable levers to allow for 6 different lever positions to set to your own riding preference.
  10. T-Rex racing no-cut frame sliders to allow an extra step of protection for the fairings if the bike were to ever see the sides going to the ground.

I have loved this bike ever since I got it, and the only reason I am selling it is that I am starting to go on longer rides and this bike is just not a cruising type bike. In addition, my wife is starting to ride on with me and long distance with a passenger is just not what a sport bike is made for. This bike has a ton of get-up-and-go and to this day still scares the crap out of me with its low end torque. The R6’s were specifically designed as track bikes made for the street. The suspension, gearing, and motor are all set up for the track which make it one hell of a performing street bike. The bike is not free from defects, there are a few scuffs/scratches here and there from normal daily use, and the tank had some paint peeling from storage that I quickly hit with some paint to prevent rusting and planned on repainting after this season, but it really only stands out if you are looking closely at the tank. I have all paperwork in hand and can show it almost any time. I still drive it daily to and from work and around, so it will remain on the road and inspected.

I am looking for a possible trade for a decent cruiser with 850 or above. Preferable a Vstar 1100 or similar. Let me know what you have and we can work something out. Blue book/NADA is around $5k bone stock and I know I wont get all the money back that I have into it, but I would like to get around $5500 but I am open to offers.
Thanks for looking.

remote start is deff worth the extra couple hundred…who else do you know with a remote start on a bike lol.

exactly…lol

wish i had a DD and then an extra 5500 haha

…Say it ain’t so…:lol

GLWT dude!

trade for a jet ski? plus cash?

I love it to death, but my joints are all 4x my actual age so I just cant stay comfortable on it. I will most likely eventually pick up another R6, but for now with the riding I am doing (30min to and from work, plus just long cruising) I really need to pick up something a little more comfortable. Within about 5 min of riding now, my hands go completely numb and my shoulders just cant hold up. It sucks, but its what I gotta do to be able to keep riding… lol.

Sorry, need the cash so I can get a decent cruiser. Definitely can’t completely be without 2 wheels… lol

bump

damn I wish I had the $, that thing would even match my car!

GTWS

Well it doesnt look like I need much luck with the sale. I was able to test drive my mother-in-laws Vstar 650 and although it was nice in some respects, it just wasnt really me. It would be nice to have the cruiser for long rides or when the wife wants to ride with me, but I could never be without my rocket so she is no longer for sale. Mods can delete this thread if they wish.

Welcome back. :lol

yayyy nice to see your balls grew back :ponder

That was part of the problem. My balls were bigger than the balls on the cruiser… lol. Granted it was only a 650, but there were no balls.

i cant stand cruisers…my cousin is to the point where he would ride anything and we drive by a cruiser and he goes “oh look at that”…thats when he gets the blank stare and the dissapointed head shake

They are nice for long rides or if you are riding a passenger (my wife). THe rocket is great for every day driving but really sucks/hurts for long trips and is a major PITA for passengers.

thats like sacrificing your spine and ride quality of your car for it to be low to the ground…some things are just worth it

spine ok, ride ok, but when if comes to my balls… there is no sacrificing… lol. Wifey still hasn’t quite learned to put her hands on the tank at every stop. So my balls and the tank get up close and personal whenever she rides.
