Because the scumbag squatters moved in, were terrible neighbors and the city wouldn’t do anything. People in the neighborhood called the local news “help me” reporter and they made it their case to get the squatters out.
I don’t even understand how they “moved in.” Did they just break in and setup shop? The report said they had a fake rental agreement.
I would say yes. This is somewhat common occurrence in foreclosed homes.
I’ve been watching Rehab Addict on the DIY channel (Link) and she had someone squatting in a home that she was actually working on fixing up. It was previously foreclosed and she then bought it and started renovating. They found some crap in the attic including a mattress.
