The Brian Williams stuff is funny for sure, but am I the only one that thinks he’s taking way more heat than he deserves? (From a career standpoint) I really don’t want to see him lose the Nightly News spot.
I’m with you on this.
The problem is he does make a good network news anchor, but not so much a credible reporter now and if it were anyone other than an anchor with solid name recognition they would have been fired on the spot most likely…
Yeah people are talking about this “scandal” if you want to call it that, basically destroying his life. Seems like a stupid mistake to me. Was he dishonest…yeah, does it really affect him delivering news…nope.
That or no one would have given a shit and they would have kept their job because they weren’t a big enough name.
People are going to tear into anything that he’s ever reported on looking for mistakes. Hopefully that will show a reporter with integrity that slipped up once instead of a habitual liar going after ratings.
There are so many people this could apply to, who is he referring to?
Beck, who won album of the year, wrote all the songs and played a bunch of the instruments himself.
Versus Beyonce who, obviously, did not.

mistakes are fine. people make mistakes.
but that’s not really what happened is it?
making up stories about your helicopter taking live fire in a warzone, bodies floating past you in a natural disaster situation or gun wielding gang members forcing themselves into hotel rooms to which there are sources that say none of which actually happened.
that’s the issue. credibility.
the job is to report facts as you confirm them from credible sources or witness them first hand.
the reason its such a big deal is because he felt like he needed to fabricate events to either draw in the viewing audience for ratings reasons or to give himself some kind of false sense of heroism by experiencing these dangerous situations.

I agree with you. Especially after seeing the rap’s that Jimmy Fallon put together from his newscast, it’s hard not to like the guy, he’s just not unlikeable for me.

While I agree with you, in his career, his credibility is everything… this is like a police officer lying about something small (putting a ding in his service vehicle) and then being caught in the lie, coming clean… BUT, because his credibility is questioned, he is now GIGLIO’d meaning he can never testify in court again… meaning his career is now pretty much over
it sucks for him…but it comes with the job
I do agree. I suppose it’s just hard to take since he’s been such a mainstay in the news. I’ve been watching the nightly news for a few years and really like him. The more I read about it, the worse it looks.
And “The Newsroom” was the first thing I thought of when this story broke. haha.
Reality is sobering.
