Gasser Gang Pictures from Sat 7/31

Went to the show from 11am until about 3ish, took a bunch of pics from different locations on the track. I tried to get a bunch of finish line shots where you can see the stripe but it’s VERY hard to do when the cars are going 115mph, lol. Here’s some of the better shots:

This guy was on the brakes because he had the other car covered at the line. The yellow box in the middle of the track is where the beam for the finish line goes into.

A few more:

The guy in the Chevelle was on the brakes so hard, the right front locked up:

Who won this one? Only the timeslip knows for sure:

Random shots of nice cars:

Pulling the chute a little early, lol:

Some burnout pics:

Snapshots from the pits:

Big car, even bigger motor:

GORGEOUS Henry J:

Just an oridinary dual-quad crossram HEMI:

Just nipped at the line! If you look through the spokes of the red car you can see the finish line yellow box. This one was CLOSE!:

i think we inspected that henry j at the shop a month back… everythings brand new on it…

Nice job on the pics.

Really fantastic pics.

Lot of nice iron out there. I think I would have booted the red Chevelle.

And this…god I would love for it to be real. I assume it didn’t have a true SOHC in it.

It’s funny you mention that Thunderbolt, lol. I’m assuming that maybe 1% of nyspeed understands how rare and $$$$$$$$$$ that car is, if it is indeed the real deal. The car show and more drags are going on today.

Nice pics man

This thing looks like it would get REALLY sketchy at speed:

I’m in that one percent… a real, factory T-bolt, still launching, is about as rare as rare gets.

Awesome pics - I really wish I had time to get out for the drags. Looks like a helluva good time.

More pics!

Close one!

I can’t remember exactly how fast that Red Chevelle was but it was FLYING! It was pretty hard for me to get the entire car in the finish line shot when they were paired up, because a lot of those cars were running 100-115mph, and I was literally 30 feet away. I was shooting with a fixed 60mm F2 lens. I was practically on a swivel as they went by. I was shooting at 1/100th and 1/80th of a second at F8 for most of them. The starting line shots I just set the camera at auto and let it do its thing. I use a Nikon D40x, and a Tamron lens.

Beautiful pics. Good Job!
