Gauging interest: NECC Spin Knobs

Hey all,

As posted by Bing (http://www.n-e-c-c.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1066), I just wanted to get a feeling for how many people would be interested in a spin knob for their E-brake. In the above link you can read up on them in more detail, but here is the jest of things:

Here are some pictures of the items:

The grey one on the left is a knock off of a cusco that is presented for comparison only. The ones that we would get are the other two. Middle one is uncoated aluminum, the left one is anodized gunmetal.

u can see they are beefier up top than the cusco. most that have played with both prefer the beefier version.

$18 - Unanodized - unengraved
$20 - Unanodized engraved with “NECC”
$20 - Anodized in GUNMETAL - unengraved
$24 - Anodized in GUNMETAL and engraved with “NECC”

These prices already include shipping, and all knobs will be sent to Aaron’s place, to then distribute at the NECC Meetings. All knobs must be paid for personally to Bing. This is not a sale through the NECC!

Since there is a minimum of 10 knobs to be purchsed for engraving, we can only narrow it down to one thing engraved on it. So, since this is the NECC, what better to put on there than that.

Pricing will be figured out if there is enough interest, cause we have to remember shipping.

Aaron

either metal type will be good enough for me so count me in for whatever we decide on

gunmetal w/ logo plez. or just plain gunmetal

necc should just buy 25 of these and when a member wants one there they can buy one. There will be others later on 4 sure.

ill buy one with gunmetal and a logo

your style is unique !!!

Awww I want the plain aluminum one with the logo to match the interior haha

either way, whatever one is chose, count me in.

You fronting the $500 or so to buy all these?? lol. If so, sounds like a plan.

gunmetal engraved or w/o

That’s a good start and after only 2 days, there are 10 people who want them…Just wait till summer time!

ok gents,

in the interest of keeping all the important info in a single thread i will post up all relevent details and answers to questions in here

$18 - Unanodized - unengraved
$20 - Unanodized engraved with “NECC”
$20 - Anodized in GUNMETAL - unengraved
$24 - Anodized in GUNMETAL and engraved with “NECC”

i am just waiting for the final say on the choice of font.

in order for me to have them engraved i would need to have at least 10 with the same engraving but it looks like that shouldnt be too hard to get that type of quantity.

anodization is a bit more difficult, i have to drive and hour there and back to get it done plus there is the 3-5 days that it takes to wait in line so to speak.

NWN has requested that i get them their order before march 19th, which means that i can and will definately have unanodized knobs ready for the beginning of march.

i was at the shop today and handed over the designs and logos for a couple other orders so once i get the NECC font is should be no time at all.

there will not be any shipping fees, instead i will cover the shipping and send them all to Aaron’s place for him to distribute to you guys at your meets.

what would you guys like to do for payment options? The knobs will only be shipped to Aaron’s place, so everyone has to arrange their own payments with me, not through the NECC (as per Aaron). Unless you personally arrange something through Aaron (personally).

i can do paypal and e-mail bank transfer that you can send from your account if you use one of the 5 major banks.

for more info on e-mail bank transfer we had a discussion on them here:

if you would like to send money orders or similar it might be easy to pool your funds and have a single money order made since they cost $$$.

i can provide my mailing address if need be.

what do think they r made for pulling trucks…its just to help you pull the knob out to engage the ebrake when u take out the spring…
did u make those on a manual lathe or CNC? looks CNC…

i dont actually make them myself, but they were CNC’d
