Anyone else seen the new Getaway in Stockholm? IT SUCKS!
The star cars are a 911 GT3 and a Viper RT/10, which is OK, I suppose. The main problem is that it’s just BORING! The first one was cool because the car actually stopped and waited to run away from the police, and the second one was cool because the cars were street racing while the cops chased them. Ever since then, it seems that it’s been all downhill - the shot selection was weak, none of the gauges had closeups on them, although it’s obvious in a few places that the cars are going hugely fast - especially the GT3.
Seriously, the high point of the movie for me was the song used in the intro movie, done by a Swedish band called Gemini 5. On the plus side, a quick search on Limewire netted me their song “Babylon Rockets” (Sample here: http://www.gemini5.net/media/babylon.mp3), which I’ve been looking for since GIS4 came out - anyone wanting the mp3 can PM me.
I should say that I’m not wanting to debate the morality of people street racing through major cities - obviously it’s stupid and dangerous. However, if you’re going to put your product out there for me to watch, it had better be a good one.
