My wifes car was in an accident yesterday, some kid cut her off in an intersection and she hit him.
I may have some parts that could be usable to someone wanting to do the Kouki conversion, might save some money.
The hood is slightly bent on the passenger corner, but the front end is ripped about 1inch long, body shop said it could be fixed, but might be prone to rust since its on a seam so they are opting to replace.
Front bumper is fine except for a 3 inch long crack visible in the pics, body shop won’t fix it so I’m going JDM.
The driver’s side headlight is perfectly fine, but I found a good deal on a pair of new lights that is cheaper than 1 OEM light from nissan, so I will probably have the one left over.
Price wise I haven’t really sorted that out, but I’m guessing around $100-150 for each part.
As a comparison
new OEM bumper $325
new OEM headlight $550 or $500 pair online
new OEM hood $407
These are jobber rates from the body shop.
If anyone is interested please let me know, post or PM.
its not totalled, its insured with facility for an appraised value of $13,200 so I’m covered…damage was at $4100 so far which would have been a write of had I not had the car insured to its appraise value.
If you had claimed it as totaled and had a branded title, but fixed it up perfectly, how much do you think this would affect the value of the kouki? (% wise?)
I don’t think it would effect it at all. When we bought the car this spring the buyers pack from MTO showed $2175 wholesale value and about $3500-4000 retail…that is soooooo wrong, we paid wayyy more than that for this car. Just goes to show how these rare and saughtafter cars are worth almost nothing book value wise.
ok, the headlight is not for sale, not buying 2 anymore. So the front bumper and hood will be the ONLY parts available. If interested let me know and I will ask the body shop to keep them. $100 each sounds fair to me.
