Sounds like a decent platform to mod since there has been a lot of development for the ecotec motor related to drag racing. Seems like for under $30K you could have a new, rwd convertible putting out over 300 hp at the rear wheels with the right bolt ons. If they can handle anywhere near an S2000 honda may have some redesigning to do.
Nice looking car. I wouldn’t mind owning one with the forced induction motor coming out next year.
I saw a truckload of solstices not too long ago. They’re pretty cute. Too bad you say the interior sucks.

There is word from someone inside GM performance that it will have a turboed motor instead. And will likly do away with the LSJ all together (i hear at the time they couldnt get the turboed motor to pass emissions so they went with the charger)
-The new motor will be a 8.5:1 compression
-turbocharged ecotec
- with a variable vein turbo pushing 12 psi.
-This engine has 2 liters of displacement and variable valve timing. (same system from the current 2.4 VVT).
-90% of its peak torque at 1900 RPM, with a flat torque curve all the way to redline.
Its a monster. They will produce 250 hp for the production version but GM will provide staged upgrades like the mopars. Depending on the final tune, it will turn around 240 hp to the wheels (heavily underrated, just like the SRT’s).

seems odd to me that if you lean on the rear quarter of the car you’d actually be sitting on top of the tail light…

being a pontiac guy, and liking the pontiac grill on pontiacs, i think it would have been a shame if they didnt have it.
