They’re really fun events. These events are very newbs friendly and instructors are available and most people don’t mind taking passengers on the first few runs. Was a short week and didn’t get around to posting till yesterday.

what types of rules are there? are we allowed to slide? or is it strickly prohibited?

It’s autocross… not a drift day.
Obviously sometimes you get sideways here and there… no big deal. But there should be no deliberate attempts at drifting.

It’s inevitable that you’ll get a little bit sideways to bring the car around. That’s expected. But going too sideways isn’t the fastest way through the course. 
No style points I’m afraid.
Saturday, May 27th’s is the next Castrol Take it off the Streets HADA autocross series sponsored by: Downtown Acura and Discovery Auto Collision.

Autocross is a safe, legal sport where competitors compete in a mini-road race-course outlined by cones in a parking lot. It’s timed, you compete against similar cars in your class and there are no speed limits - you can drive as fast as your car will let you. It is more of a test of driving skill and car setup vs hp.

Was a fun event. Plenty of runs for all. It was great seeing all the old Z-cars out and that turbo 240 was pretty quick. Some pix have started to get posted. Enjoy:
