small description about Bi-Xenon
Bi-Xenon HID bulbs are designed for cars that utilize a single bulb for both high and low beams. The stock halogen bulb used in these cars has two filaments in it. When the filament at the high position is lit, the high beam is on. When the filament at the low position is lit, the low beam is on. But, For HID bulbs that do not have filaments, it’s a totally different story. Bi-xenon HID bulbs has a built-in solenoid that can move the bulbs to the high and low positions as in the stock halogen filament scenario, and thus convert BOTH high and low beams to xenon HID with just one bulb.

Why Slim Digital Ballast?
Electronic ballasts are not the same as Slim Digital Ballasts. Both ballasts share similar components but the electronic ballast does not have a brain. The electronic ballasts regulate output voltage and current based upon fixed parameters, where the slim digital ballasts have a microprocessor that controls the output to the bulb. The slim digital ballasts also communicate with the bulbs and report their health, a feature the electronic ballasts wish they had. So what difference does a microprocessor make? It makes a fair amount of difference. Slim digital ballasts won’t attempt to light a bulb if it senses a failure. Slim digital ballasts are continually monitoring and checking the input and output voltage and current to maximize bulb life, color and illumination (brightness).

the headlight housing creates the cut-off, not the HID kit.

I might get another kit soon but do you know what kind go in a 2001 Honda Accord coupe.

for the 01 accord coupe its 9006 lowbeam.

hey Ryan, what’s the ETA on these? when are you closing the GB? I’m still doin some research of what to do with my headlights…my car has 9007 and uses it for both hi/lo…i’m just worried about the glare…had HIDs in my s13 before, and those were HORRIBLE haha, glare was nuts…the current housing on my headlights have a decent cut off…but not sure how it’ll come out with HIDs…

also, have you seen 5000k? how do those compare to 4300k?

hmm, hopefully everyone sign up by next week and then i can go ahead and order right away. i don’t think I’ve seen 5000k before. best bet is to stick with 4300k.
your new housing should be fine with 4300k, if there is a cut off in your housing, you should be able to aim the HID lower to the ground to prevent any unwanted highbeams from the oncoming lane :).
