You don’t need to be selling anything to want the value of it in increase. Taxes only get assessed every few years, and i don’t have much to worry about, for the town’s sake it basically goes off sq. feet and property value, so as long as i don’t build an addition it isn’t going to increase by much. I wouldn’t expect you to know this, since you live at home.
It’s an affordable house i bought because i can easily pay for it while my wife is in PA school full time, it’s getting sold in another 2-3 years when she’s done and making an income at (or likely above) mine. then we are getting a huge barn or shop, and a moderately sized home with some property that’s out in the sticks a little bit.
