Honda U3-X

And of course Honda is making it.

I like this for one major reason. Think about how hard it can be for people in wheelchairs to get around in normal spaces. Something like this can be a way for them to have a less invasive approach to mobility.

I wonder how much weight it can handle going up ramps, or when the rider is carrying something. This could also be something we’ll see adapted to office chairs.

If the battery dies or there’s an electrical problem in a wheelchair, it stops. This thing… well… plop!

I remember a similar type of system (moved along a line, not a plane) in my college Feedback Control Systems class, where it could balance a weight held on a pivoting rod. If the system was underdamped or overdamped it would fall over or go nuts trying to balance it.

I don’t understand why there are so many negative comments. This is a fantastic development that opens up so many doors for advancement. Does it possibly help people be more lazy? Sure, but that’s kind of exactly what any technological advancement has ever done. Think cell phones, computers, farming tractors, automobiles, etc… I guess if you realllllllllly don’t like the idea then you could always move to Zambia or something.

LMAO

now, I know how stewie felt
