I grew up in london reading thomas the train and still have many of the original books.
one of them is pretty racist… it talks about some bad kids throwing rocks from above a tunnel exit and one of the trains gets revenge by coming out of the tunnel and blowing black soot all over them making them look back as (well you can guess what it said).
needless to say, this one didn’t make it to TV.
^ Nice. I have the first season of the TV show that I downloaded and laughed because Ringo Starr was the narrator, and instead of “Sir Topham Hatt” the railroad boss was called “the fat controller”.
