AMD has integrated memory controller into the CPU rather than outside whereas Intel is using an external memory controller. AMD has designed the Hammer architecture to be highly scalable.
Intel has a better CPU manufacturing process. They can fit more CPU’s on a CPU wafer since each CPU is built with a smaller process. Because of that, they can crank out more CPUs at a cheaper price and still make more money.
