The Tote that helped launch Lands’ End.
In the beginning, our business was outfitting racing sailors. And in an early catalog we offered a canvas tote for “beach, boat and beyond.” Customers liked its durability; we even got letters from sailors who, forced to improvise, used theirs as a tow line or a sea anchor. Today, the Lands’ End Canvas Tote carries on with all the features you see above, plus the ability to stand up without tipping over, for easier loading. Because, since 1977 the Tote has carried everything from beach towels to bricks – and the legacy of Lands’ End.
