Current vanity plate rates are $50 per year, paid every other year upon reg renewal. Unless I was smoking crack and missed something… entirely possible/minus the crack part.

look on DMV. There $45 fee for a regular 8 number/letter combo + 25 for the first year and 15 there after.

Custom plates, if you want the yankees symbol or something on it, comes with 6 number/letter combo. 65Fee plus 25 for the first year and 15 thereafter.

So say you walkin and ask to change your plate, like i want to do. do you have to pay for a new reg? and how long does it take
