Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG to star in Gran Turismo 5

Computer game fans may be pleased to know that the recently-premiered Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is to be the star attraction of a new title.

The vehicle, which was premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show, is to be one of the cars that gamers can drive in Gran Turismo 5, set to be launched in the future on the PlayStation 3.

Some 1,000 cars and 80 circuits will be present in the racing game, with the track used to test cars on the television show Top Gear set to feature.

According to Mercedes-Benz: "The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be just as impressive in the game as it is in real life, thanks to the extremely realistic rendering techniques used to depict its drivers.

“Drivers of the SLS AMG can look forward to taking part in thrilling high-speed races on a variety of different race tracks, including the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife, while competing against other vehicles from the super sports car segment.”

Among the many star qualities of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is that it can accelerate from still to 62 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds.

This power comes from a 6.3-litre V8 engine, which also enables the car to reach a top speed of 197 miles per hour.

Good reason for that, it closes the gap between a supercar and an average person.

The more realistic the video games get, the more of an experience can an average consumer have to experience the thrill of driving a supercar, especially around a track.
