We have been advised by Michelin that there is a manufacturing irregularity with two of their most popular tires. as a result they are recalling ALL these tires.
The tires affected are the Pilot Power 2 CT (120/70 ZR17 (58W) MSPN 36963 and the Pilot Power 120/70 ZR17 (58W) MSPN 92557.
Both recalled tires are front tire sizes developed for the sport, hypersport and sport touring markets and are clearly marked with “MADE IN FRANCE” on one of the sidewalls. Michelin Pilot Power 120/70 ZR17
The affected tires are marked with the following DOT numbers on the sidewall
DOT 6UCW 980T Michelin Pilot Power 2CT
DOT 6UCW 979T Michelin Pilot Power
You can take them back to the shop you purchased them in and they are directed to replace the tires. (according to our info, Michelin is supposed to reimburse them for the parts AND labor , so there should be no cost to the consumer)
They are even requesting the tires be destroyed so there is no chance of them being used.
