Don’t worry everyone stays calm and seems relaxed, and then when you are on the bus that takes you over the bridge onto the island and you see the sign for MCRD Parris Island the bus goes silent and soon the fun begins!
One other thing DO NOT shave your head before you go, you are going to get a haircut as soon as you arrive no matter what and if you have a shaved head they just press harder into your scalp LOL.
As far as being the guide, it doesn’t hurt plus it should be a promotion at the end of boot camp if I remember correctly. However being the guide you will spend more time getting fucked with by the DI’s.
