Moon Day oppsy :)

All I can say is I’m glad Elliot and passenger are ok. Elliot was actually like his usually self and just laughing it off. Tracked them down after driving on “the road” and took some photos. The gist…Jim P and Elliot going for a leisurely drive on “the road”, on the return trip mid corner steering wheel “pops” off the hub. Rest is history. Locktite and correct fasteners FTMFW people…

I’ve got another great picture but I’ll save it for a little later on here.

Fresh front end all fucked. J-Lines seemed to survive pretty good. FR has a very small nick in the outer lip.

Again Elliot, just glad you guys are alright. I like to keep this road on the DL so lets not name it here. FWIW…this could have gone much much worse and you did a pretty damn good job of keeping it intact

WOW! glad your ok elliot!

wow, shit just doesnt go right with that car.

wow, that sucks so bad…glad no one got hurt.

Glad no one got hurt. Time to redo that body kit, AGAIN.

Have fun with that one guys

did the blue tape throw off the aerodynamics of the car causing him to lose control?

I call suicide attempt. Tossed the wheel clean out da car for no damn good reason! …I heard you 1st comment was “But Boxer said this thing ran on rails” …

Seriously, sorry bout the car and glad all is okay!

Eliot!!! :wow :wtf :angry2

poor MR2.

Glad you are ok

btw, your car still looks sick, with dirt/tree branches, and tape all over it.

Wow, glad everyone is ok. The car damage is really minimal compared to what could’ve happened from the looks of things.

id like the story from elliot on this. sucks when things like that happen, but luckily that tree didnt make contact with the car

Uhh did the sterring wheel really end up there?

Or was it placed there for the shot.

I think I’ll stick to a fixed, welded, hub if I ever do a wheel lol.

+1

hope everything works out for you and your car.

No, I placed it in the road for the shot for a good motivational photo. I guess the wheel came unbolted from the hub mid corner and Eliiot handed it to the passenger and said “Here, hold this for a sec” before grabbing the hub and slamming the brakes. IMO, it was a matter of quick reaction on Elliots part and a little bit of luck as to where the car came to rest. What you don’t see in those pictures is that if this happened 1/2 second earlier he would have been a couple feet to the left and off a good size ravine into trees.

NRG super quick release. :confused

scary, glad everyones alright

Holy shit, glad u 2 are ok.

Nice long skid marks…

I heard about that road but we never went on it last year on the dyno trip.

Glad everybody is OK, and glad things didn’t go much worse.

Probably gonna have some nice flat spots on those $$$$ tires
