So - not sure how many know but Motorola has the “Transform The Smartphone” Challenge.

When It first came out, I submitted my idea and late november, we were selected and I was given a new Moto Z Phone and complete dev kit.

Well, Motorola is now starting to promote the finalists and I am looking for input, and if you are interested - assistance. Since Novemeber - I have made the hardware, but the Web/Graphic/App developer I had was promoted at their FT job and no longer have time to dedicate to this. I have been left to do everything myself - Site design, renders, models, etc etc. So needless to say, What I have isnt quite as good as “The Edge” mod in terms of marketing materials.

Anyways, the Mod I am making right now is a Room sensing remote back. It uses modified iBeacons to pick up which room and switches the 9 buttons on the back to what you configured (Button 1 in the living room turns the lights on/off - then you go to the bedroom and button 1 now turns on the ceiling fan, etc)

I am looking for any input, advice, opinions on where I should focus efforts next. We are (hopefully) being flown to chicago in March to pitch this and show the prototypes to Motorola/Verizon/Lenovo for additional funding to make this happen.

Also - if you think you could offer something to this that would benefit us, PM me. I could really use a graphic designer and video editor.
But yeah, thats about it. end of random rant.

… yours is the plain looking one right? IMO it needs a bit more distinctive design to it. Maybe add a grip pattern or something so it doesn’t just look like a slippery shell.

Transform the Smartphone Challenge | Indiegogo?

I thought that link was in the first post - but either way, as of now it is the plain/simple mod. I am working on fixing that now. I tried to source it out to someone on Fiverr but that seems to have backfired so I am trying to learn Fusion 360 now. At least I know I am on the right page.

This is the first time we’ve seen the mod next to others to see how it would look with their promoting. So its a little easier to spot what should change but still, I am a little overwhelmed and want this.

The vision for the whole thing goes well beyond just this device - I am just waiting on patent stuff back before I can put those pages live. (or at least I was advised).

Gotcha. Yeah add a bit of “flair” to it or even your logo to help others identify it at a glance. :tup:

So - I made a lot of updates this past week, any additional input would be appreciated!

Also if you want to, or know anyone who wants to invest please let me know, or just donate to the indieGoGo campaign. If this project does go somewhere and is selected to go to Chicago on March 6th, they will have invested early on, and if not - all money is refunded.

Edit: I also made this after other people requesting it, and have another Mod for the MotoZ going up later today.
