luckily this cost me nada, other than time, lots of, LOTS OF time. and my fingertips materials were free 
i was lucky
to drop this off and have this work done would have been ~$6-7000. i stripped to car to bare metal/glass/plastic/urathane. that was a pain in the sack. body work. prime. 220 wetsand w/ block. body work. prime. 400 wetsand w/ block. seal. 600 wetsand with pad. color, clear. this is not including the COUNTLESS hours of masking and dis/reassembly of the car. and i still need the 3 cuts of clear coat wetsanding, followed by buffing. OUCH

I bet that paint looks 100x’s better (ont that it doesnt look good now…lol) in person. It always looks better in person. :tup:
