What did you get for a pad?

hawk hp+

what pad were you running at the glen?

not a good choice for a track pad at all from what I’ve read.

E46 is a heavy, and fast car, the HP+ isn’t even a track pad really.

Truth right there. I’ve never driven NJMP so I don’t know how hard it is on brakes but HP+ is really only adequate for your first time on track in a slower car (even then it is marginal).

HP+ will be fine for your first time out. Just know that if you overheat them (dragging them in your first event), they fall off quick.

I’m using PFC 01’s. I loved them, and they were fine for driving to/from the track. Didn’t experience any fade throughout the weekend. A bit noisy, but worth it.
If you want something less noisy, try Carbotech XP8’s. I used them on the Subaru and I thought they had excellent feel and little to no fade throughout the day.

I dunno which track you’re going on @ NJMP, but Lightning is hard on the brakes IMO. You have two very heavy braking soons (going into T1 and T7), and I was on fresh XP8’s and went through almost 3/4 of the pad over three days.

New wheels!

Car looks awesome in person dom. Wheels are sick.

DO WANT E46M3 TRACK CAR

Nice man, I was at the Glen yesterday and the day before for the BMWCCA event.
Do any suspension mods yet? I just ordered a set of Hotchkis sway bars f&r, my first suspension mod lol.

So awesome. Car is def impressive in person.

I have h&r adjustible sport springs and rtab limiters, u should think about springs with the sway bars. The sway bar will stress the shit outa ur mounting points for the bar because there will be so much deflection with the soft stock springs

And how did ya like the glen? Put down some decent lap times?

I’m holding out for a month longer until Bimmerworld gets some new JRZ coils that’ll hopefully be a bit better than their current offerings (which are still great). Since I plan on doing some BMWCCA club racing next year, I don’t wanna do things twice, so getting a set of springs made for stock dampers and then having to get new springs for the JRZs would just be throwing away money for me.

I love the Glen, it’s my favorite track I’ve been on so far. My times aren’t bad at all (I think, at least) but I can definitely see where I can do better w/ my TraqMate. My strongest points on that track are from the beginning of the esses all the way until the boot starts, which is fine for me since it’s the fastest part of the track, and it’s where I see myself catching up to a lot of cars that should be much faster. Everywhere else I can still get a lot better at. I’m going to the Glen 2-3 more times this year, mostly with BMWCCA as SCDA isn’t going back. I may do one with another group, but that’s not 100% yet.

Also, there’s a BMWCCA club race school going on there in September you should look into. I heard they are excellent and a lot of fun, and you can gain a bit of knowledge there. I am hopefully going to make it to the one in Sept, but I’ll have to see what my schedule’s going to be like w/ my classes and what not.

I want to do a CSL trunk lid so effing bad, but the class I plan on doing does not allow it as it wasn’t offered on a stock car here in the US.

basic requirement for that is that the car has to actually touch a track surface (LVD doesn’t count)
