I wonder what made GM go with the engine choices they did? The Chevy’s and Olds’s got a dog of a 5.0 and the Buick got a turbo 6? But nobody got a 350?
Was there a G body Grand Prix too? Or am I smoking something?
Just to add; other '80s G-Bodys got a 3.8 and turbo too. Only one I can come up with proof is, the Monte
I guess the politic rumors of having to kill the GN because it was going faster than the 'vette would of carried over on the Monte. BUT, it would have made the Monte Carlo SS sooooo much more bad ass if it was the same drivetrain as the GN or GNX.
Yeah I am really not sure what GM was thinking only putting the turbo v6 into the GN. The best years for that engine were 86 and 87 when they used the intercooler. It would have been kind of cool to see a factory turbo el camino or monte carlo, although I think the GN is one of the better looking G Body cars.
BuickGN: I was planning on getting a front mount intercooler, I guess I could also just get the duttweiler neck for the intercooler. Just need to save some money for it.
