For my 2004 Nissan Frontier truck, I purchased an Idler arm from rockauto. I called to make sure that it fit my vehicle and they said no problem. I just removed the old arm and put the new one in, and now I can not get the Centerlink to go into the arm. It lines up, but the bushing on it will not fit into the hole in the arm. Am I missing something or do I need to call rock auto and flip shit on them?
Will not fit as in wrong size? angled wrong? etc?
I have it angled right, I can get the threads flush to the top of the idlerarm, not enough to get a bolt on it and wrench however. the bushing on the centerlink is just not getting into the hole… I even tried using my BFH since it was there to remove the tierods earlier.
I am considering taking my dremel to it and making it fit…

[rockauto] Well, it looks like we were wrong then. Would you like us to get you an RGA?
[me] Well, my truck is sitting in my driveway unable to move now. an RGA is not important, I would like you to ship the right part Next Day Air Saturday Delivery
[rockauto] Well, I cant really do that. All of the orders have printed for shipping.
[me] Can’t you walk the fuck back there and say “hey ship this out it is important”
[rockauto] Well not that I can guarantee, would you like me to start the RGA
[me] Seriously… I CAN NOT MOVE MY TRUCK. When I m done there will be nothing to return as I am going to drill the fuck out of this thing until I can make my truck move.
[rockauto] Then it will not be returnable.
NO SHIT ASS HOLE, LIKE I COULDN’T HAVE DEDUCED THAT ON MY OWN UGGHHHHH
Very unhelpful on this one. I will still work with them however as they have fast shipping and great pricing.
Could have asked if it was shipping from Tonawanda. If so you would get it tomorrow, probably before noon.
just put the old one back on for a few days…
wtf are we going to do without nyspeed this weekend. lol
mm… put the old one in?
The old one is broke, as in attached to the bad center link via a snapped bolt. It would have been way too much effort to put something bad back in. I just drilled out the hole and got the nut on good and tight. IT will be enough for me to move it out from in front of my car and into the garage or the back of the driveway. I don’t need the truck at all this weekend so it is not really a big deal now, it was when it was blocking my other vehicle from getting out! I will just have them ship me the proper part next week and have the thing back on the road after that. All I wanted was to get it fixed, get an inspection and be happy. Oh well.
Oh, and when I had my vice grips holding the back side of the bolt, they randomly snapped open into my eye, so on top of this I have a cut under my eye, and a nice shiner. I should have just paid the dealer the $460 that they wanted to do this.
