Wow world record for Men’s marathon is a 4:43 minute mile pace. For me that would be like sprinting as fast as I can for 26.2 miles. I’m trying to watch a good chunk of them.
I think I could run that fast for … 100 feet.

I’m watching a replay of men’s 85kg weightlifting. These eastern european dudes are mind bottling. They’re creeping up on double bodyweight snatches. I’m hoping to work my way to a double bodyweight deadlift. I can’t imagine throwing it over my head and holding it there.
Yeah, even some of the more boring events are incredible to think what skill it takes to be at that level. I mean the marathon is pretty boring, but running a constant sub 5min/mi pace is outrageous. The gymnastics is crazy, the upper body strength required to do half the shit, and these 16 year old girls are doing it. I liked watching the archery, even though the US lost.
