what kind of criteria do they look at for judging? the best story line someone can give them or actual car modifications and execution.
that guy that trailer his “built” motor 07 mustang got all the attention in the world for a car that runs a 12 sec pass in the 1/4. and it had an intake and slicks and skinnies - i highly doubt the motor was ever touched in that car. what a tool
and if a stock boss 302 with a 4 pt and a couple bolt ons was picked and won. my moms mostly stock gt500 coudlve won then too.
or the 04 gt with a supercharger. and a few bolt ons?
i talked to shredd for a good 10 minutes about my car.
i wish i was up closer to record the interviews with the owners on what mods they had done to their car. absolutely hilarious.
im not complaining i should’ve won or whatever but i got “honorable mention” but didnt make the top 3 and easily had the most modified car there and the trophy sounded like a cool deal so i was like ill go and check it out. should have somewhat of a chance at making the top 3 .
heck with the 3 cars they picked, me, my mom and 2turboz all could’ve won with any of our cars.
got there and there was 3 cars at 8:15…this show is getting beat, which sucks because it had potential of not having all junk like the track used to have
If I make a clear plexiglass bumper and rocked that around so you could see my Turbos then my car would grab attention. I dont even bother to open my hood because quite literally there is nothing to see. It amuses me that the judges just walked right by my car as if it was just a boring car…but what makes it boring to others is what makes it appealing to me, I love the sleeper aspect of the car.
I wasnt upset that my car didnt win, but the Roush def. should have won out over the Edge Body they picked…that was criminal.
The Boss 302 was cool just because of what it is but when the only thing they guy can talk about is why it has tow hooks on it, I stopped listening.
The biggest joke was def. the “blklung” coming in on a trailer…well wait no it wasnt…it was some guy in a BMW taking pics of his own car in the parking lot.
The newer white Roush 3 was a great looking car and the GT350 along with Mrs. Naabs Shelby were all so much better in that category
oh yeah i forgot about the blklung.
so this guy with this 12 second 1/4 mile built motor N/A mustang has this black typhoon plastic intake thing. that supposedly swells up like a lung and its black so he calls it the black lung. lmfao. i was rolling when i heard that lol

Shredd was walking around talking to the owners. He looks for mods and also clean cars. If it’s a car show, then shouldn’t it be clean?
Is yours the silver Roush? If so, you were #4 but got knocked out because it looked like you exploded a bag of crackers on your carpet, your wheels were dirty, and your engine was filthy.
Sure you could have had a faster car, but it’s a car “show”.
And many people didn’t have their hoods open either.
The 3 cars that were finalists were modified and clean. Blklung was extremely clean under the hood and done right. The Boss was modified and Shredd liked the cool factor. The orange GT he also liked the attention to detail.
But you’re not complaining

I guess I forgot what wins at these things…not anything cool or rare…just the thing with the most armor all on it.
Wish it would have not had so much rain in the forecast…def. took away from the potential gathering of cars.
The only thing I did not like is that if you werent by your car at the exact moment the judges were walking around, they didnt even bother to look at it. I def wouldnt have won but there were cleaner cars there that didnt get acknowledged specifically because of the rain or them not being by their car. I think an announcement should have been made to be by your car if you have to review mods and detail items with a judge.
i agree my car could be cleaned up a little bit. it wasnt filthy by any means
sorry i didnt vacuum out every little pebble from the floor on the drivers side. ill bring my floor mats next time and cover it up.
and sorry i have dusty brake pads. ill be sure to bring my jack and take my wheels off to clean behind the spokes next time when i get there. or perhaps ill bring a tooth brush and clean the 1" gap between the rotor and wheel that you cant get your hand between
and a filthy engine bay? it couldn’t be any cleaner, even if i took simple green and a hose to it. sorry everything wasn’t covered with all armor-all .
that blklung guy can shove it. he had an intake with an otherwise stock engine bay…which are all plastic nowadays so of course it will look “clean”
i could keep going. but thats why i never go to car shows anymore. shit is just plain stupid
and Shredd seems like a cool dude. knew a decent amount about my car just by looking at it. and i gave him a run down of mostly everything.
So was the silver one yours? He tried to look at them all, but it rained mid-way. And he still looks at cars when people aren’t around. But he’s not going to open your doors, hood, etc to look inside. We respect the cars.
But in the end it is a car show and clean cars will have the edge. There were 3 cars for each class that he picked as finalists, and there were 25+ that didn’t get picked.
I guess my rant is because I run a ton of car shows and people always bitch about the awards. Some people throw a ton of $ at buying a car and only know how to fill the gas and some people build from scratch and have tons of time and $ into the build. You can’t please everyone.
But my point is that he was looking at the cars overall, checking out the upgrades (stock cars don’t win in modern class hardly ever), and listening to the owners.

Sucks but fast cars win drag races, cars that can turn do well at road courses, clean cars win car shows.

yes mine was the silver one. and i opened it all up for him to look at.
i guess i was just lost in my own opinion that i wouldnt have looked at any of the cars that were picked and been “wow’ed” like that guy did a really nice job with the car. so i sat there scratching my head lol
