Our new 2WD/AWD variable load chassis dyno is up and running

The Mustang AWD 500 dyno is a big unit, especially with the oversized ramps we got. As you can see it filled most of the rig:

I had the pleasure of offloading all the pieces with this. I was like a little kid with his Tonka trucks.

This is the same dyno Cobb and many OEM manufacturers use for testing and tuning. While it’s more expensive than a Dynojet, I felt that the extra features it has are well worth the money. Loading cars more similarly to real world conditions is what Mustang dynos are best known for. By putting in the approximate vehicle weight and a power to maintain 50 MPH figure which we get from Mustang, the eddy current unit applies the appropriate amount of load on the dyno to simulate real world driving. We can also simulate different grades (slopes), run 1/4 mile passes, perform passing acceleration tests etc. on it. Since it’s a variable load dyno we can perform steady state tuning as well as power pulls/sweeps.

Here’s an example dyno graph:

Just to clarify…I’ll still be road tuning cars. I’m just also offering testing and tuning on the dyno now for those that want it. Cars will either be road/track tuned or they’ll be tuned on the dyno and then checked on the road/track. Because this type of dyno simulates real world conditions better than others, less road/track testing/tweaking is necessary, but I still feel it’s a vital part of any comprehensive tune.

If we didn’t get back to you Thursday-Monday, this is why. It was quite a lot of work to get it unloaded, in place and all set up. Thanks for your patience.

Give us a ring at 716-873-7360 or email tuning@InnovativeTuning.com to schedule time on it.

:bigclap:

I was starting to think you guys would never get a dyno lol

Awesome man, definitely an improvement to the shop! Business is good

This thing is heavy as shit.

good thing you got an AWD one so i can tune my BMW on it…

Very nice to see.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

:tspry:

I can only imagine how sexy it was when Mike was driving that big truck.

After having one for a few years, then staying fully booked for tuning without one for a few years I was having a hard time deciding. When the right deal on the dyno and the right interest rate came along, I pulled the trigger.

The two broken floor jacks will agree lol. That was fun to try and move it justtwo inches.

I can’t wait to strap the DSM on!

Very nice to see.

I lol’d

Awesome to hear, I will be giving you guys a call after I finish getting the evo ecu and holset installed next week.

I think I was there for the car that did that dyno graph :mamoru::eekdance:

In for dyno day.

 to another local dyno

yay  thank you mikey!

you’ll be hearing from me in the upcoming weeks!

nice

what’s the deal for “renting out” the dyno; meaning if we tune and you operate if need be?

lookin good.
