My old officemate used to put it: “MBA’s make good engineers useless and useless engineers managers.”
Sometimes I think about taking it down off the wall and hiding it before someone notices it. There’s a lot to be said for a job with problems that have solutions based in physics, rather than getting slap-dicks like me to work harder or getting unions to work at all. Most big corporations have sort of a dual ladder anyway so I can always advance through the engineering ranks.
