Update: I tracked down the source of the pedobear chop. It was done by a guy named Michael R. Barrick, who did that chop back in July: http://mbarrick.livejournal.com/894999.html

This alone exposes the sad but true trend of legit news media outlet’s willingness to believe everything they came across on the internet as “real”, without even bother going to the source to confirm. If outlets like this is how those media outlet treat information that will be printed on their newspapers, I don’t even want to know the amount of misinformation being circulated for millions to read on a daily basis.

It is still unclear what happened here. Either that news media outlet got some random image off the net and without confirmation, thinking it is an official image from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Anyone that can read polish care to translate?
