Is that a documented feature though?
My speed6 did the same thing, but it was the rear wheels that were disabled. It wasn’t a feature though. 250hp front wheel burnout FT…Loss

STi’s remove power to the DCCD (driver controlled center diff - electronic clutch pack) when the e-brake is up one click or more leaving the mechanical diff which sends power to the back like an open diff without the DCCD unit being pulsed, accomplishing the same thing. This is an undocumented feature as far as I know. At one click the brake will not engage, but the signal is sent to the ECU. Subaru did it so people wouldn’t screw up the center diff when e-brake sliding it and I imagine that’s why Porsche has done it. Center diffs don’t like rear wheels not moving while the fronts are going 50 mph, for example.
I set my car up this way, but only tried it once for fear of blowing the rear end as many have done. Cars designed for AWD use generally can’t take full power to the rear for long periods of time especially when making double stock power.
Here’s an 05 STi displaying this feature. His DCCD and control are all stock.

I’m surprised Newman never did this…lol
