edgeracing.com has 615’s in 205/50/15 for 78/tire, reduced from 96. I believe the 215 has stiffer sidewalls, which is a benefit for me in a heavy, undersprung and camber challenged car. The 615 is probably better in the wet but I have never had problems on 215’s, even in the ponds of nccc last season.
I’m using data from Falken. 24.5 lbs for RT-615, 29 lbs for RT-215 which is 4.5lbs…I rounded to 5. When I had both models here in the same size I had a few people pick both up and the weight difference was VERY obvious.

Yes the 215 had stiffer sidewalls. When you feel them back to back vs. the 615 it’s night and day.
UR NOT AS CHALLENGED AS ME
I was going to say that.
Edgeracing.com seems to have the best prices so far that I have been able to find.
I have been researching these as replacements for the Yokohama’s on the EVO, and althought they aren’t as good, it would seems as though they would be about 90-95% of what the Yokohama’s were.
I STILL can’t figure out which to go for:
245/45 17
or
255/40 17
Some people say the 245/45’s are alittle less than the stock Yokohama’s, due to the overall OD being 25.3 Stock vs. 25.6 for the 615’s.
The 255/40’s I believe are alittle smaller, but closer to the stock OD. BUT, I can’t get a CONFIRMED answer on if the 255/40’s will fit on the stock wheel. Seems as though Tirerack say’s the rim is 8" wide, but everyone else seems to think it is 7.5". I believe the 7.5" myself.
But, the 255/40’s need a minimum of 8", but there seems to be quite a few people running them without rubbing.
Think of this as a rant, but if you can help me with the choice, I would appreciate it.
They don’t NEED 8", but it is recommended. According to mitsu it is 8"

Personally I’d go with the wider tire, even if it means some overhang. Especially if others have gone before you to confirm no rubbing.
thanks for that edgeracing link  they have some good prices
true, compared to certain civcs I guess
