A prison guard on a power trip was fired for making certain inmates dance on command to Usher’s hit song Yeah!
Dominic Martucci, 35, was fired from his job as a deputy at Ohio’s Summit County Jail after an internal investigation showed a number of violations of the department’s policy.
Martucci, who has a history of suspicious behavior, forced inmates to dance ‘to his liking’ in order to use the prison’s microwave. Other inmates had to perform for Martucci in order to make phone calls to family and friends.
‘I did what I had to do so I could use the phone,’ The Beacon Journal said one inmate told an investigator.
The incidents happened during the night shift on April 11 and prompted an internal investigation that led to his dismissal.
The moves that the inmates did for Martucci’s viewing pleasure included classics like ‘the worm’ and ‘the robot’.
At one point during the evening, Martucci told a co-worker ‘stop and watch this, it’s going to be funny’. During the busiest time, there were five guards watching the inmates dance.
In total, five inmates were made to perform, and four of them were rewarded with either commissary food items of certain privileges- like use of the phone or microwave- that had been taken away for unrelated actions during the day.
Past: Martucci was initially thought to be involved with the 2006 death of Mark McCullah Jr (pictured) but his charges were dismissed
The inmate that did not receive a ‘reward’ was told that he ‘messed up’ and would be sent to solitary confinement as a result.
Instead, he was given the option of dancing for ‘one minute to (Martucci’s) liking’.
Following an inmate’s complaint to supervisors, Martucci was suspended on April 23 and has since been fired.
This is not Martucci’s first run-in with the prison administrators, as he was one of the four deputies that were thought to be involved with the 2006 death of inmate Mark McCullah Jr.
One of the other deputies was charged with the murder but Martucci and the remaining two were dropped from the case.

There has to be video of this somewhere

Lol, I have no sympathy for inmates. Should be changed to a wall with the bare minimum to survive.

I take the middle ground on this since a lot of prison guards power trip issues and abuse prisoners.

However big fan of the prisons that use inmates for labor it helps a lot places in the south fix their budgets instead of having them sit around and watch tv etc.

Guards do whatever-the-fuck they can to get a rise out of you just so they have a reason to go on a power trip.

This seems pretty tame though.

Lol. That’s good, and yes rather tame compared to what that one CO in Texas makes his guys do…

Middle ground here as well. The guards are in a tough spot and under stress, that doesn’t allow them to abuse inmates without provocation though.
It’s just a slippery slope when power is pushed too far and eventually abused.

Dance? That’s funny. If he was truly abusive that’s another.

You would make them become a wall ?!! You heartless bastard. What kind of wall would they change into? Cement, wood, brick? Sounds excessive.
