The ugly orange paint is coming off the intake and plenum. its gonna be bare metal like stock, probably paint the letters red/black, right now it looks like a 4 year old paint the letter black.

aircraft stripper, then i scotchbrited it (alot) with dishsoap and water, the repaint the cap, and spray cleared everything.

you did a killer job on the wheel. that intake will look so much better. doin a hell of a job there. nice ride

Lookin’ good. The wheel looks good. Big Improvement.

It looks like a 4yr old painted the whole intake.

Killer job on that rim!

Are you going to polish the intake or just bare metal it?
It would look killer all shiney

this is what its supposed to look like stock.

that OG orange looks like pooooooooooooooop

Okay maybe not polish, that does look good, just Clean…

looks good

while you have that out

you should replace the intercooler metal pipes with heater hose and flush out the intercooler, and heat exchanger

o and if you need a throttle body airfoil i got one-cant use it with the 7th injector setup

All the heater hoses are gonna be replaced before summer, again, cheap insurance. and i’ve already flushed the intercooler system, and radiator, and filled with new fluids.

whats the cat for?:dunno:

well, i have to pass inspection.

and it will help stop my overboosting.

1 get classic plate and become emmission exempt

2 overboost with stock set up(turbo/dowmpipe) yes, unless you enlarge the wastegate hole to bigger size and get an externaly gated downpipe

after bringing it home, i’ve driven it, about 200 miles. beyond that its been sitting, and insurance wont let me drive it until March, so right now i cant test anything, i’m running on speculation. I do know that it was overboosting to over 20psi at about 3/4 throttle. It does have a boost controller, but i have not been able to find any info on it. I figure if i can get it back close enough to stock, then start toying with it. But i’m not really looking to built a race motor, or have it break into the 12s. its a rebuilt motor, but the truck has pretty low mileage, so i dont think its worth my while to start spending money on high performance parts for it.

I just want it to be reliable, or well, as reliable as a SyTy can be.

Thinkin about it now, i’ll probably setup a soild boost tube, that’ll run from the turbo to the IC. and weld a BOV on it. And set it aside, then after i run the truck for a few days, i’ll see if the problem persists, if so, i’ll put the pipe on.

like so

just finished clearing it.

now i gotta figure how to paint the intake, without removing it…

That turned out sharp!
