Question for our resident Firearms Specialists

Im considering building an AR15, the first piece I would buy is a complete lower. But here is my question, If I buy lets say a Rock River Lower do I have to stick with their upper?? Or can I just use anyones upper??

You could use anyones.

Of course, if you’re gonna do it right, get the good parts.

Colt or Armalite.

Dpms also makes a lot of good parts. and bushmaster

Colt, Bushmaster, and Armalite…the ABCs of AR-15s. You can’t go wrong if you stick to your ABCs.

Rock River makes excellent AR-15s as well, as does Smith and Wesson. Beyond that, I’d be more leary.

You may be better off just buying a complete gun at this point. The last upper we order about 6 weeks ago had a 13-20 week delivery time. I know of quite a few places that have complete guns on the shelves. Also at this point, unless your looking for some off the wall, cal., your not really saving any money building one. From what I have seen you may even spend more building it yourself.

I have a Bushmaster love it death. backed up with an officers model and a browning 9mm. after that it’s explosives

Yup, if it were MY money being spent I’d go buy a complete Bushmaster…probably a 16" A2 since they seem to be the best deal.

EXACTLY!!

BRILLIANT!
