Ahhh. Locust. There was no bug left. Good to know what it was!
Yeah, after they leave the big nasty shell, they end up in the trees making obnoxious amounts of noise. Where did you see it?
Highland Park in Rochester.
LI has lots of those lucust bugs too. They’re huge. Theyre also fun to catch and torture.
Looks like a cicada to me. Maybe not.
spell edit
I always thought secadas and locusts were the same thing
edit: the correct spelling is apparently cicada, and they are different
that is definitely a cicada
^^Looks like you’ve been playing around in PS a bit. Looks great man. Good work.
^ Really not a lot. Just some small tweaks to levels, and maybe a +10 bump or so in saturation on the butterfly one.
I was in NYC, I bought a new lens, Canon 50mm F/1.8, I experimented a little…
I bet it doesn’t come across in this picture how fucking HOT it was in this subway station
A little overexposed…
Jay, awesome work my friend, the second one is super cool.
God I love NYC
and
eMkay, where you standing on the tracks to take that pic?>!?!?!
Neat Jay. My sister does a lot of macro stuff, unfortunately i have found that macro seems to really show the flaws with those “kit” style lens’s. They seem to really lack in sharpness and the focus points are sometimes a bit strange.
Such a lens snob.
The butterfly stuff was with my 55-200… hardly macro great but butterflies aren’t big on you getting 2" away from them.
HaHa. Good glass is the way to go. LOL Id be a real snob if i posted similar pics from my 70-200 2.8
nothing special, but the first actual pictures if tried to take of lightning.
this is from last night
sick
yeah, wish it wasnt so dark, hopefully ill have a chance during the day to find a nice lightning storm to take some pictures, without being such a high iso setting! and be able to use a better shutter speed and not so slow
