Rap Music lovers....

Lil Wayne can suck the stink off of my cock.

JayZ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>that crooked faced monkey

+rep to you big guy…

Cant argue musical preferences, can argue stats though. Pz

that rick rolled video has like 20 million hits… he must be really popular or something

u all fail

I stopped listening to rap and now just listen to their beats. Is that weird?

not at all… the beat of a rap song is by far the most important part.

all that are listened to by 12 year old girls and 15 year old white kids with popped collars in the burbs

I am a huge rap fan, that is the reason i could not listen to 3 of the 4 above mentioned artists.

jay z>>kanye>>>>>http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/41700/41717/FC_Infinity_41717_th.gif>>lil wayn

i agree that jay z > lil wayne, however, like someone previously stated, lil wayne has a shit load of underground songs. the other day, i came into possession of a data cd w/ over 1k songs from lil wayne that i had never heard before.

i feel like lil wayne works very hard to be where he is… jay z releases an album every once in a while, lil wayne is in the studio every day.

but, in the end, the blue print 3 > any of lil wayne’s mixtapes

completely agree

Not arguing this, it’s pointless.

Not a fan of any new rap as it’s not rap but merely meth addicts moaning into the microphone with a computerized beat in the background.

Eminem is good because he’s white.

Wat you like old school rap? Or no rap at all?

I think you would enjoy acid jazz

:rofl:rofl:rofl

Its like listening to 96.3 they got a great tune going on and WHAM stupid fuckin air horn

I’m sorry but 96.3 is garbage… They repeat the top 10 like every hour, for real. Punctuated by stupid air horns and endless banter by Big Ray (who is sometimes funny as the jolly fat guy, but most of the time boring). Even Funkmaster Flex with his oft-repeated (and potentially annoying) Flex-isms and constant bomb drops is more entertaining.

It seems that 96.3 was a lot better when hip-hop was still underground and the station did a lot to promote it. Now instead of hip-hop and R&B, it’s more like a “pop and R&B” station.

Hip-hop has evolved, basically. To paraphrase Jadakiss “what are ____ all mad at the South for? Switch up the style learn to go southpaw”… Basically what a lot of the good artists are doing just so they can get airplay. Let’s face it, unless you do at least a song with T-Pain / Dream / some other AT artist, you will not get any airplay on a local station, unless you are already like a legendary hip hop icon and are above this rule.

I’m not gonna hate because everything (including music) evolves. All I have to say is that songs I have on my playlist (for the most part) lift me up and take me back to a time when hip hop seemed to be more “real” and about having fun, talking $hit, collecting props, and backing it up… With the emphasis on having a good time.

It’s also nice to listen to the older hip-hop and R&B collaborations where hard edged artists would spit flames in one verse, with the bulk of the song being carried by the R&B artist. As opposed to what you see a lot of today, where you can’t even tell who the damn rapper is because he is half-singing hooks and the singer is weak on the vocal tip and leans on AT as a crutch. Again, my opinion, but this is just weak as hell and needs to stop…

Sure there are thought provoking raps out there and I like my share of those, but for the most part, I listen to it from the point of view of getting some good lines or just to go “oh $hit that was hot” at a line or two- not really looking to learn about socialism / how the world works through the eyes of a poet.

I’ve mostly given up on looking for new artists but just download some newer stuff at random with a good beat and catchy hook. Some of it stays on my playlist just to freshen things up, but 90% of hip-hop and R&B that I listen to is from the nineties.

/old timer rant

Cudi reminds me of old Arrested Development BUT of course a little more acid jazzy

Kid Cudi’s new album is pretty good I think.

cant stand drake and little wayne… thats y the song is mediocre
