did you buy this in saratoga? i was gunna buy it fo one of my friends, 400, and needed new head gasket, but she was willing to take 200. same everything as yours.

thats it for progress. now that its nice out Its my main focus since the truck is pretty much done.
list of things to do
- fix the charging issue (might be just a battery or alternator, hopefully its not wiring)
- tow it up to my buddies house to tune the carbs so it runs good
- begin suspension work and get the wheels fitted.
I’ve shortcutted the LSD rearend and sold it. 500 bucks back into the budget and I’m going to run a spool in the SR5 rear (wasnt available 2 years ago when I started this) Theres rumors Battle Version is going to start making 86 parts again, so im holding out for thier NCRCAs and rear lateral bar, but if its taking too long Ill go with T3.

Did you do the full GT-S swap?
Why did you choose the carbs over some blacktop or silvertop itb’s?
well, ive been so into the offroad thing, this project comes second unfortunately. my samurai is mid rebuild but once thats done i can start spending on this again.
recent news is I put the car on the road and have been taking it for test spins trying to work out any issues. My carb guru buddy needs to balance the carbs before I want to drive any distance on em, but it runs and drives good right now.
I was planning something more exotic for an engine, but this kind of fell into my lap. local drifter (Ben Alden) had this engine in his race car and I bought it from him. Carbs came with it, and it was an easy swap into the SR5 because of that. Admittedly, the engine could use a rebuild but Im not motivated to spend money on that right now :lol
I got a garage full of parts waiting for it, just need to finish up one project before getting back into this one.

I took this car in as a trade in a few years ago at Kinderhook Toyota. I was amazed that this dude traded this car in. He bought it new at khook toyota back in the day, moved to Arizona so it saw minimal to zero snow then he moved back and since he was back in NY wanted AWD so he traded it in for a AWD Matrix. He was a really nice dude and he loved that car. Not many 1 owner cars that are that old out there.
