I really don’t understand what isn’t understandable. I don’t care if the roof rack is used or not I think it looks stupid. Why not add a deer slayer and off-road lights, just because it is used doesn’t make it look good.
Judging by the ride height and wheels I’m going to assume he has a winter car, why not have the roof rack on that? (I could be wrong here though.)
Same thing for the guys whom add luggage racks to cars. I don’t care if you use it or not it is taking away from the lines of the car in my eyes. (Unless its a triumph.) It is my opinion I can dislike any part of a car I want too.
I really like the roof line of the A3, I think it really makes the car.
Good answer. I’ve heard so much roofrack hate from people just because they think it’s a purely aesthetic piece of my car, which pisses me off. I use the shit out of my rack, thus the reason for having it.
I hate anything VW, mechanically speaking, but I do love a nice stanced euro car. Although some form > function crap goes too far. I don’t mind this roof rack though, most of the VW guys do actually use them.
