Wouldn’t having the signed title and a non-notorized bill of sale on you be pretty good proof that you didn’t steal it? I know if I’m driving a car home I go to the DMV of that state and get temporary transport tags. I would think that if you had those the law is on your side; I doubt many car thiefs get the title and go straight to the dmv.
