Stranglehold Mini-Review

So I downloaded the John Woo game, Stranglehold starring the 5th best Asian action superstart behind Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and (the guy from Kung Fu Hustle) - Chow Yun Fat. The graphics are ok but I will admit Bioshock, GoW and Lost Planet have ruined it for them. This game reminds me a lot of Max Payne. There is bullet time and more importantly, there are tons of bullets. I mean lots. This game is all about shooting guns and blowing shit up. The one difference between this and Max Payne is you initiate bullet time simply by running by tables, chairs railings, etc. Specifically, you slide on a table and the bullet time starts or slide down a railing. The controls are pretty simple but it looks like it’s a whole lot of fun to play. The demo weighs in at 1.3gigs so depending on your intraweb connection it may take a bit to download. In any event, check it out, might be worth picking up…

Interesting review… looks like fun

if you had xbox live you could download the demo too jerface…

I still havent opened my box 360 yet. Thinking about trading it in for one of these http://nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35846  I can picture him calling Howie “NYspeed is down!!”

I have played through the Stranglehold demo about 20 times. I love it.

I particularly love the Tequila Bomb where you can zoom in on a dudes head and splatter his melon with a single shot - in slow-mo.

Good times. I will likely get this game for PS3 though. The PS3 version comes with a copy of Hard Boiled on Blu-Ray, remastered for HD.
