Need to slam your seat. He did it and all the BMX kids do it. Besides it makes you look like you know what you’re doing even if you’re just riding it around town.

What he had were plastic, not carbon fiber, and yes those broke very easily. I’ve done 20+ foot drops to a slope and around 10 foot drops to flat pavement on these (stairs), raced cross country and done some light downhill on these. They’re fine for people that are relatively light and know how to land jumps smoothly. People over 220 lbs broke them if they rode hard. Also, if they take a hard side impact the spokes are paper thin and you can break them that way.

I’ve never had to true my wheels and they absorb a lot of shock through the spoke design. They aren’t any lighter than the spoked wheels I built myself (Mavic rims radial front, radial/3x rear), but that’s not why I bought them.

I’ve trued my spoke wheels once or twice in 3 years now, and one of those times is because I relaced them with a new back hub. I think most of that has to do with the wheels being smaller, it’s just a non issue in bmx.

Yup. Smaller wheel, more spokes, less stress on each.

So are you going to come out and ride, or just talk about it?

The mag wheels he had were aluminum IIRC.
