I rarely read forwarded emails, but this one I did, and I fucked it up 2 times in a row trying to figure the number out in my head. I got it after writing it down. Anyways, for those of us still stuck at work at 4:18 on a Friday… here is something to pass the time:
How many legs are there in the bus? They are looking for an actual number - not the word! It’s not a trick
There are 7 girls on a bus.
Each girl has 7 backpacks.
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.
For every big cat there are 7 little cats.
How many legs are there in the bus?
incorrect, it’s not a trick question
yeah I tried to multiply this out, but without a calculator at the time it just pissed me off

7 girls, 7 backpacks = 49 total backpacks
each backpack has 7 large cats and 49 small cats = 56 cats = 224 legs/backpack
49 total backpacks * 224 legs/backpack = 10976 legs
7 girls = 14 legs, 10976+14 = 10990.

7 girls, 49 backpacks, 56 cats in each backback, 4 legs on each cat, 2 legs on each girl, 14 girl legs + 2744 cat legs = 2758 legs

So 7 girls with 7 backpacks = 49 backpacks
7 girls with 2 legs each = 14 girl legs
7 big cats in each backpack(49 of them) = 343 big cats
343 big cats with 4 legs each = 1372 big cat legs
343 big cats with 7 little cats each = 2401 little cats
2401 little cats with 4 legs each = 9604 little cat legs
14 girl legs + 1372 big cat legs + 2401 little cat legs = 10990 legs
However, if there is a bus driver, it’s 10992.
[(7x2)+ (7x7)(7x4)+ (7x7)(7x7)(4)]=10990
[girl^] [Big Cats^] [little cats^]
plus amputee bus driver, still = 10990 legs
