Amen brother, that’s the type of argument I wanted to see, and I whole heartedly agree. A bike can come close but will always be a bit behind. Bikes have to brake harder and sooner as well.
One place you can easily tell the difference is looking at bike races and car races (F1) held on the same tracks and compare the top times.
you would be suprised with the braking and cornering ability with a bike even in the rain, it just needs to be done properly. Like vlad said the physics are alot diff.
i loved watching the guy on the supermotard in the vid vlad posted. and in that one video that green bike that comes screaming around the corner almost totally sideways… WTF!? them fucking guys can ride.
Properly set up track cars will blow bikes out of the water 9 times out of 10. Though not just anybody can walk into a car dealership and pick up what is essentially a watered down race bike for 10 grand like they can at a bike dealership. In the real world against 99% of the cars out there, most likely even 99% of modified cars, the bike will win if it is rode by a skilled rider.
Edit: On topic… that movie is nuts, even just downshifting in the rain can get hairy. Let alone trying to ride at a race pace.
I don’t disagree with any of the posts yet, all I’m stating is a new motorcycle will out handle out brake and out accelerate the LARGE majority of the vehicles currently out there. What I ment with the good rider is that a good driver can out drive a crappy rider in a stock civic Vs. a race prepped ducati. Look at the movies posted, they are super cars going against bikes that can be picked up for less than a new luxury car.
If my point isn’t clear what I’m trying to say is a race car will beat a race bike, but stepping down to the street the bike USUALLY has the advantage. Only because you can go to a bike dealership and buy a motorcycle thats only a few short steps away from being the same bike that is raced for 10 grand, which you can’t do with a car for much under 100 grand or a lot of modications.
by the way that first video looks like me in the rain I used to have to ride my bike everyday because it was all I had so I just got used to riding hard in the rain
