stockish evos fall right on their face hitting 5th gear. need more revs/power. even with 430whp my old roomates evo would hit a dead spot for a bit early in 5th

Fathouse’s evo9 RS with a 35r on e85 went 10.8@128 with the stock evo 9 trans shifting into 5th.
he then put evo8 3rd and 4th and he went 10.3 or 10.4@137.
he picked up 9mph from just a change of the gears. pretty sick.
5th gear is money for me.

4th and 5th do work in my car. havent gone to 6th yet. 155in 5th is enough
caus your 5th is like everyone else’s 3rd lol. feel like the top speed in your car is about 120, gearing limited

My 4th only goes to around 100, but my 5th goes to around 140. You would think the drop in rpm would make the car significantly slower, but it’s only for a second or two and then it gets going.
Yeah, I wish I had a 5spd for straight lines. Pete was in 4th when I was in 5th.:lol
6spd helps it pull out of corners real nice though. :excited

i’ll go from a roll gain, no prob. idk about a dig, i’d like my clutch to last me thru the summer since i got some bolt-ons being put in soon. i’d like to do 11’s with the stock clutch. so it needs to last a bit longer lol
4th goes to 110 for me, thats where i shut down.
i’m gonna have my red line turned up to 7900~ that should put me up to 117~ give or take to pull me thru the traps in 4th.
