Then there was the disc shooting pistols. Not the soft foam ones like today, little hard plastic discs that would leave a mark and take an eye out. They were accurate for a ridiculous distance for a toy. Having trouble finding a picture of the gun, but these are the discs. They were about the size of a nickel.
My parents always gave me this…but i was never interested:

Sure, they looked nothing like the phasers from the show and shot little plastic disks instead of coherent light beams. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that you could load these babies up with a ton of ammo and go on insane rampages against anything: parents, siblings, friends, pets; nothing was spared getting shot by these things.
