Tire Rated for 14k on new car

I just got a new car and i think it is absolute crap that this bridestone potenza is only rated for 14000 miles. Most drivers I have talked with have seen 12k at most. These tires are not cheap due to the need for run flats (no spare tire) and have a low profile. I need to keep BMW approved tires on the vehicle which is making me think i set myself to be clubbed over the head.

Would you give up some stickiness for tred life? I know its cool have a car right out of the box with awesome grip but I’m sorry 14k is BULLSHIT!!!

Get some BF Goodrich’s on it. Traction T/A’s are pretty good all season and they’re rated high on tire rack. Had a set on my old car. I had about 10k on them and they still looked pretty new when I sold the car to my brother.

I wish I could get 14k out of my tires on the bike. My rears last me about 3k, my fronts about 6k.

So yes, you gotta pay to play and stay on the road without flying off.

Trade tires? :stuck_out_tongue:

bfg’s are great tires although they are not a bmw oe tire which has to be on the car when i turn it in… im thinking im going to get a tire thats will last atleast 20k and then through the stockies back on… im not sure yet because i have to make up my mind if im going to get a winter car or winter tires.

Vlad if you find me a run flat luxury sport tire for a bike i will give you my life savings and my car… seriously

Marat, don’t tempt him. I’m sure Vlad will call up Michelin or Dunlop and bribe them.

Get a beater, and then a set of wheels and tires for a decent price and then you’re set. Keep the stockers under your bed until 2009.

best bet is to probably find another set of wheels whether it be the stock alloys or steelies.

I know on a friends xi, her tires were shit in the snow… made it handle worse than my honda
