hey tim, i need an opinion on what rear springs to run for my stang. i got a full tubular K member with drag coilovers and probably get 90/10 struts. car is pretty well gutted along with 6pt cage with it tied into my shock towers. got upper/lower control arms. so 4banger, stock fox 8 springs or mach 1/bullit springs?
hey quik, the stock 4cyl springs work great for drag racing, better than the stock v8 springs however if you intend to do the autocross thing, then you should invest in some progressive rate springs like eibach or motorsports, we always use the stock 4cyl springs in our street and drag cars they are cheap and very affective. and thanks sailor, you really put me in my place, oh yah, hey sailor on that v-dun you put the head gasket in, there was one little power wire that went to the batt off, i just put it on and everything worked. thanks for the help…
Yea I’ll race my high 13 second car against your “10 second” hahahahahah street car. Your so cool . Keep up the good work . And I am not or never was a keyboard warrior. If you want to flex what little muscles you do have flex them somewhere else…
shit, where was the power wire at? when i took the battery cable off, it just had the main power wire, and that ghetto blue wire wraped around the terminal. Glad it was something stupid… How did it run/fire up? any hiccups?
ran great, but had to replace the plugs, the exhaust leaked real bad but it probaly did that before we started, so all is well, oh yah, those ghetto blue wires melted and caught fire when i closed the door once so i had to get rid of them, hahaha
I cant believe that guy had those wires in there to begin w/. speaker wire is thicker gauge. plugs are understandable.
the exhaust, i can see that leaking due to those c clamp setup, as the one was rusted allready.
glad that shit is sorted out. let me know when u get more vw shit that needs work, as i can use whatever side jobs i can get.
ur side work, one at jays, and 2 on my own are helping to get my car done. it paid for manifold, all stainless i/c and echaust pipe, muffler, fuel fitlers, and misc turbo flanges which add up real quick. about 700 bucks in material just on cost alone.
almost done though… hopefully this wekeend i can kick the wiring in the ass.
bring it on, sooner the better. i need all the fucking money i can get, as im not putting 1 fucking penny on credit card for this car. never have and never will…
although i think i should charge people on how clean their car is. This last jetta i did-- it was a 95. no shit the pan leaked, the steering pump leaked, the rear main seal leaked, the rack leaked qas both inner boots were gone and greases was liquidfied, everything fucking leaked.
For as much shit that was dripping, u would have thought the cars underside would be clean due to being oilled down. but nope, it was rotted out, as in holes through the floor rotted. I have NEVER seen a mark 3 vw like this…
man i know what you are sayin, the dirtyer the worse, that is why i just hired that russ guy, he gets to tackle all the crap work now and i stick to the clean stuff…
