:rofl @ cross drilled rotors
lol
it would look sick with like 19x10’s in the back with a deep dish
:+1
like this?
You need an adjustable panhard bar so the wont rub especially if you lower it. I had 18x10s on my Formula and plan on doing the same on my Trans Am
well I already have BMR lower control arms and KYB shocks…I am gonna get a nice, fat MT drag radial on the back because when my car is running right, I hafto pedal the gas ALOT…i mean the tires on there hook up great for what they are…but it only takes once to smack into a guard rail or something and all my work go down the shitter.
As far as rims go…I DID have 17" corvette C5 rims up front (9.5" wide) and 18" rears (10.5" wide)…they are silver but they are ugly…they are just sitting up in my attic…i’d like to sell them actually for dirt cheap…problem with the 10.5" wide rim and 11" wide tire was that when I turned fast, it would rub the inside of my wheel well…
my front drilled/slotted rotors made a HUGE difference. Since I dont have ABS anymore (swapped in a 99 ws6 rear end) I really needed these…even at lebannon back when I had stock rotors I had trouble stopping…and eventually they warped so bad, that i would hit the breaks and it would feel like i was flying over speed bumps…with these new rotors it stops on a dime and is so nice and smooth…deff. one of the better upgrades on my car, thats for sure.
Give me a hammer and a few minutes of your time and I will fix that. I had the same rims and the same problem.
also…just for shits and giggles from the mullet comment lol
trust me…i did that…after I beat the shit out of it with a sludge hammer, I then took a grinder and smoothened it all out…still did it. It was running at a part in my frame where you could beat it as much as you want, and you werent gonna move it.
Thats wierd. My car just took a few well placed swings of a mallet in the front lower area of the back of the wheel well. No more rubbing for me. I sold my wheels without tires for $350. Did you ever try a small wheel spacer? What size were your tires? Mine were 285/40/18
I Had the stock corvette tires on the corvette wheels as well…and mine were rubbing at the tops and fronts where the frame was.
:lol :lol :lol :lol guys, i just love how you modify your cars! thats the best, just start bashing shit in with a sledge hammer :lmao
LOVIN’ it!
What would you do? It was a simple problem with a simple solution. I beat it then sprayed new undercoating on it and it looked like nothing happend. :ninja Hopefully the new owner never reads this.
id try some spacers or at least flare out the sheetmetal on the fenders a smidge, but not pound the frame, but still, that made me laugh guys. thanks
Where I was hitting wasnt really the frame but the inner sheet metal of the rear wheel well. There is one spot that sicks out a bit and rubs. You know when you hit the frame cause it wont move. Plus wheel spacers cost money.
Boostin Camaro, Does it rub on one side of the car or both? My car just rubbed a little on both sides cause the rear was centered with the adjustable panhard bar. This might help. Or use the spacers but they suck to deal with everytime you mess with the rear wheels
I bet if you changed pads and fluid and kept stock rotors you would have been fine.
Or slotted at best, i hope your x-drilled ones 'asplode :rofl
IT was rubbing on both sides…at the top of the wheel whell (where I beat the shit out of it with a sludge hammer LOL) and then in the front where the wheel well is welded to the frame :headbang and that wasnt going anywhere.
the slots arent drilled all the way through…prolly only a millimeter at most…they are summit racing rotors…and i have a life time warrenty on them :nod
anddddd I did have brand new front rotors, bad’s and a fresh brake fluid flush…without ABS, and doubling the HP output of a car, it was only a matter of time before they warped.
My rotors warped too… Ceramic pads FTL
